CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS:
CANEL (mid 20s)
Canel spreads a very calm energy all around her.
She reflects but also overthinks a lot. Which makes her a strong supporter of „everyone should have therapy“.
Throughout hard times and a bad relationship with her family, she became a very independent person.

ZENA (mid-20s)
Zena is a strong and opinionated badass. Still, she has a very distinct soft and sensitive side which she expresses a lot through physical touch.
Her wittiness fit very well together with her sprouting energy and quick movements.

LOGLINE
Torn between keeping different relationships in order to escape the feeling of loneliness, Ekko slowly manages to understand that being alone doesn’t necessarily has to be negative.

SYNOPSIS
Broken relationships can make you feel very lonely, especially when the feeling has been building up since childhood through parental relations. Throughout the film, we see Ekko managing to reflect on the state of being alone in a positive way with the help of their friends. This doesn’t just affect their romantic or familiar relationships but also and most importantly the one with themself.

VISUAL/ ACOUSTIC CONCEPT
The film follows Ekko through their perspective and influences the way the colors and darkness/light are expressed through their emotions. The soundscape plays a big role as there is an almost constant buzzing representing the internal conflict with the feeling of loneliness that changes dynamically as they recognize that being alone doesn’t always have to signify loneliness.
