SCREENING and Q&A with Zara Zandieh

Zara Zandieh works as an independent filmmaker and cinematographer, teaches and gives workshops. She studied camera at filmArche between 2010-2014. Her films were shown on international film festivals. The screening includes a sneak peak of a part of her latest film „The sea runs thru my veins“(2018), her film Khoshbakhti (2015), and other works.

‚Khoshbakhti‘ (Happiness) was officially selected for DokLeipzig German Competition Short Documentary and Animated Film (58th Leipzig International Festival for Documentary and Animated Film 2015) & for the New Berlin Film Award of the festival achtung berlin (2016).

Amir, an electrical engineer by profession, has been working on philosophical texts in his spare time for almost 30 years. He tells of his perspective on what happiness means to him. An essayistic experimental short film into the protagonist’s perspectives and world.

Zara Zandieh arbeitet als freischaffende Filmemacherin und Kamerafrau, unterrichtet und gibt Workshops. Sie studierte zwischen 2010-2014 an der filmArche Kamera. Ihre Filme liefen bereits auf internationalen Filmfestivals. Im Screening werden Ausschnitte aus verschiedenen Filmen gezeigt, darunter aus Zara‘s aktuellem Film „The sea runs thru my veins“ (2018) und Khoshbakhti (2015), der als ihr Abschlussfilm an der filmArche entstand und im Wettbewerb für Deutschen Dokumentar- und Animationsfilm auf der DokLeipzig 2015 und im Wettbewerb des New Berlin Film Award auf dem Filmfestival achtung berlin 2016 lief.
