Am Ende der Reise durch die Filmgeschichte betrachten wir das amerikanische Blockbuster-Kino der 80er, die neuen Impulse durch das aufstrebende Hongkong-Kino und den Independent-Film der 90er.
Neue, fragmentierte Erzählformen suchen Antworten auf die Fragen der Postmoderne.

Und wir werfen einen kurzen Blick in die mögliche Zukunft des Films.

Über den Dozenten:

Mark Wachholz studierte Drehbuch an der filmArche. Er war Co-Autor der preisgekrönten Computerspiele “Drakensang” und “Satinvas Ketten” und veröffentlichte 2014 mit “Höllentrips aus der Postmoderne” die erste grundlegende Beschreibung des Genres Dark Drama.
Für den Indie-Actionthriller „Immigration Game“, der 2017 in den Kinos lief, schrieb er mit an der Story. Als Co-Autor der kommenden Lovecraft-Verfilmung „The Dreamlands“ und Autor bei Serien wie „Land of Giants“ und „Superblack“ entwickelt Mark Wachholz aus Deutschland heraus internationale Genre-Stoffe.

Part 4: The postmodern film and the future of cinema

At the end of the journey through film history, we look at the American blockbuster cinema of the 80s, the new impulses of the up-and-coming Hong Kong cinema and the independent film of the 90s.
New, fragmented narrative forms seek answers to the questions of postmodernity.

And we take a quick look at the possible future of film.

About the lecturer:

Mark Wachholz studied screenwriting at the filmArche. He was the co-author of the award-winning computer games „Drakensang“ and „Satinva’s Chains“ and published the first basic description of the dark drama genre in 2014 with „Postmodern Hysterics“.
For the indie action thriller „Immigration Game“, which ran in the cinemas in 2017, he contributed to the story. As co-author of the upcoming Lovecraft movie „The Dreamlands“ and author of series like „Land of Giants“ and „Superblack“, Mark Wachholz develops international genre-material from Germany.
