We are looking for a team for the development of our sci-fi comedy webserie “Night-time Utopia” !
A short logline: In a popular european neighbourhood, a group of 4 young friends with unusual skills are running a quite special night-shop based on presents and necessities, where customers of all kind of social backgrounds stop by to offer what they have or ask for what they need. But behind the back-door of the shop, lies one of the many meeting points of a highly organized global network of anarchist communities, secretly working together to build a better world.
Format: This project is researched-based, mixing science fiction narratives with interviews and documentation. It will be broadcasted on a web-platform that will give access in a participative way to additional resources, strategies, knowledge and stories on alternative co-living systems.
We are looking for people to work with us:
– for 4 actors for the main characters and some side characters.
The main protagonists include an extravagant witch in training, an introvert visionary writer and researcher, and 2 inseparable cyborgs, hacking their bodies with hormonal and technological devices.
There are no gender requirements for the characters, as we wish to write a narrative that can go beyond gender binarity. The script and most of the dialogues will be in english but speaking this language in your own way and mixing it at times with your own native language is a plus!
There will be a first meeting point in Leipzig the last week of June, and the shooting of the first episode will take place in Leipzig as well, during the last week of August (27/08 to 2/09). We are now in the process of applying for subventions, but it is likely that we won’t have enough funding yet to pay each other for the first shooting, although we will cover your food and travel expenses. We are looking for collaborators who can share their skills to make this project happen, but above all that are passionate about topics such as anarchy, queerness, ecology, with a will to get involved in this creative process mixing entertainment, activism and utopian storytelling!
