In times of climate crisis, what gives us hope and the necessary strength to act for a livable future? Searching for these answers takes 16-year-old Anna to the year 2084 – where she is confronted not only by her own granddaughter, but also by her older self. Our short film is based on Jostein Gaarder’s novel „2084 – Nora’s World“ and is produced as a German-Norwegian project at the Film Academy of Baden- Württemberg.
MAIN CHARACTER ANNA (16)
Anna is a 16-year-old girl living in Norway in the year 2025. She suffers from sudden panic attacks and visions that take her to 2084, a year darkened by the climate crisis. There she meets her granddaughter NOVA, who is convinced that Anna can change her world by her actions in the present. But Anna doesn’t believe this and hides her hopelessness behind cynicism. But what if Anna really can change the future?
