„The Wanted 18“ von Amer Shomali ist ein animierter Dokumentarfilm.
Synopsis: Wir schreiben das Jahr 1987 und die israelische Armee ist auf der Jagd nach achtzehn Milchkühen in der Stadt Beit Sahour in den besetzten palästinensischen Gebieten. Die Kühe werden zu einer Bedrohung für die nationale Sicherheit Israels erklärt, nachdem eine Gruppe von Palästinensern begonnen hat, Milch für die Bewohner der Stadt zu produzieren.

„The Wanted 18“ will be screened in open air at 20h30 the 30th of June, at the location of Berlin Mondiale in Neukölln, organized by Berlin Mondiale and Filmarche.

„The Wanted 18“ by Amer Shomali is an animated documentary.
Synopsis: It’s 1987 and the Israeli army is in hot pursuit of eighteen dairy cows in the town of Beit Sahour, in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The cows are declared a threat to Israel’s national security after a group of Palestinians begin producing milk for the town’s residents.
Humorous and thought-provoking, The Wanted 18 shows the power of mass mobilization and nonviolent resistance to the Israeli Occupation during the First Intifada – an era too-often simplistically depicted with stone-throwing Palestinian youth facing armed soldiers. This is a poignant film about nation-building from the bottom up, by the people not the politicians.
