Loan for filmArche

Loan for filmArche 2560 808 Mario

Become a Loan giver – Support the move of filmArche e.V.!

filmArche e.V. is taking the big step and becoming a member of the “Vollgut “-project, which means moving our self-organized school to the  center of Neukölln.

The situation in our current location is uncertain and expensive and with becoming part of the coop project we can assure our future. But filmArche e.V. need to raise the capital quickly in order to become part of the cooperative.

You could help with a direct loan.

A direct loan is a private loan between a doner and filmArche e.V.. Every direct loan is officially concluded with a written contract, in which the loan amount (from 500€), interest, period of notice and the term are individually documented.

If you decide to give a direct credit loan you will have direct, personal contact with the direct loan administrators of filmArche. You will receive yearly updates about our progress and you will have an insight in how you money are being used.

Many social projects in Germany have used this model to finance necessary investments. You could also be a part of financing of a social and cultural project and putting an end to speculation with commercial space.

We will be happy to clarify further questions and requests in a personal conversation or by mail to: fundraising@filmarche.de

Learn exercises for relaxation and concertation and connecting to your scene partner.
Receive tailored feedback to support you move forward and develop your craft.

This is an introductory workshop to method acting open for actors, non-actors and directors keen to explore and learn more about coaching actors. Participants learn how to deliver authentic performances in theater and film using tools and techniques derived from Method acting, the Meisner technique and Robert Cohen’s GOTE ‘Goal, Obstacle, Tactics and Expectation’ from his book Acting one.

During our sessions together we will work with characters and scenes to understand and orient ourselves with the toolbox for character and scene analysis. By the end of our time together you will be able to use ‘Goal, Obstacle, Tactics (aka action verbs) and Expectation’ to answer those questions:

  1. What is the scene about?
  2. Who are those characters?
  3. What does he/she want and why?
  4. How does she/he pursue that goal?
  5. What are the obstacles for her/him?

Participants will be assigned scenes and characters. We will explore the character profiles and history of the roles via hot seat exercises and improvisation. Each pair will explore their assigned scenes and learn how to identify scene objectives for each character, as well as the obstacles, tactics, and expectations. The instructor will also guide the process of dissecting the scene to understand subtexts and tactics and facilitate exercises that allow the scene characters to explore the history of their relationship in the scene, the power dynamics, and the different layers at work.

Thanks to all involved filmmakers, film lovers, panellists, workshop participants, guests … simply everyone who helped to make our anniversary and the Arche Film Festival a success! simply to everyone who helped to make our anniversary and the Arche Film Festival a complete success!

It’s the holidays. I invited my friends George and Louv to my mother’s place. The atmosphere is tense: She doesn’t accept that I’m not the feminine daughter she always dreamed of having. She doesn’t deprive herself of saying it out loud. In addition, she is in the middle of her breakup with my stepfather. The holidays are going to be hectic…

Arche Film Festival

Arche Film Festival 2560 1569 Mario

Also, wonach suchen wir?

Und was hast du davon, fragst du dich?

Worauf wartest du also?

Attention to all filmmakers and film students!

Get ready for the ultimate celebration of independent cinema as filmArche turns 20 in 2023! To kick off a week-long festival of festivities, we are thrilled to launch the first-ever Arche Film Festival in Berlin from July 5th to July 9th. And we want YOU to be a part of our dazzling lineup!

So, what are we looking for? Short and medium-length films produced from 2020 onwards with a maximum length of one hour. And we don’t discriminate based on genre or production style – from fiction, documentary, and animation to experimental films, we want to see it all. We’re especially excited to feature a special segment dedicated to student movies, so if you’re still sharpening your craft, we want to see what you’ve got!

We welcome submissions from all filmmakers, whether you’re a beginner or an experienced professional. But, as a self-organized school, we’re particularly interested in films that bring to light marginalized narratives, including but not limited to BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and those with diasporic experiences. We will be dedicating one section, especially to female and queer filmmakers from Iran and Afghanistan. We’re also looking for films that are fearless in tackling contemporary themes and challenge the canon in both form and content.

What’s in it for you, you ask? Well, if your film is selected, it will compete in two categories: The Students‘ Film Award and The Audience’s Choice Award.

So, what are you waiting for? Read our FAQ and complete the form on this link until the 30th April 2023 to submit your film. Trust us, you won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to showcase your talent and connect with other filmmakers at the Arche Film Festival.

See you in summer in Neukölln, Berlin!
